Gracie at 3 months

We just continue to fall more in love with our sweet Grace! Its hard to believe she's already three months old--its going so fast. Her personality is emerging more and more as she grows. Here are some fun facts about Grace:

• She can now roll over from her stomach to her back and looks quite proud when she does! She seems to enjoy tummy time more and more, but when she's had enough, she'll just flip over and smile.
• She is not a good sleeper! She did sleep through the night once last week (from 9-5:30) but this trend hasn't continued. Normally she's still waking up a few times to eat in the night which is fine except the nights she wants to stay up and "play"! She naps well about every other day but tends to be a cat napper.
• We've moved her to her crib and she LOVES her mobile! I think she also loves all of the extra space to scoot around.
• She has a contagious smile and an adorable laugh which she's just started showing us. She still smiles at Jake more than anyone but also knows her mommy and daddy and reacts to us too.
• She is a passionate girl--she goes from extremely happy to quite mad quickly. I think we have a drama queen on our hands! Or maybe we just have a girl that isn't afraid to speak her mind :)
• She weighs 13 lbs. and 4 oz. and seems to be getting longer and longer (although I haven't measured)
• She also LOVES the bumbo seat which makes me so happy :) She'll sit in it while I make lunch and dinner and enjoys being up high and watching the rest of us from our level.
• She can grab her toys more and more and also loves to grab my hair while she's nursing. She seems to love her stuffed dolls the most which I find adorable.

Answered Prayers

Last Thursday we took Jake back to see his cardiologist to do a new echo cardiogram. We were seeing him become more tired easier and Dr. Altman wanted to make sure the July surgery date wasn't too far away. If she were to see the membrane was causing more damage, she would have requested the surgery be moved up. Jake was so great during the echo (again!) and we got good news. There isn't any new damage so the surgery date will be left at July 21st. At first I was almost disappointed because part of me was ready to get the surgery over with, but then I realized how incredibly silly and really selfish that was. We need to praise God for keeping Jake healthy and for the fact that things haven't progressed anymore. So many people are praying for Jake and I know God is listening and answering! 

My mom is the office manager for a doctor in OKC and she said the other day he came back to the office after an appointment at the eye doctor really confused. He told her that the lady that worked there had told her that she was praying for Jake. The doctor was so confused how the lady at the eye doctor would know Jake who lives in Houston. It turns out that she goes to church with my aunt and uncle in OKC and they had put him on their prayer list. She realized when she met the doctor that it was the one my mom worked for so she passed the message along. I thought that was a great story...we appreciate all of the prayers...from the lady at the eye doctor...from some of Ty's friends on a ship overseas...from everyone.

Here is a picture of Jake today while he was finger painting in the bathtub (notice the strategically placed washcloth!). He LOVES this and its an easy way to clean up when he's finished painting. I've been trying to find indoor activities for him because the doctor wants us to limit him being outside in the heat and also because I'll have to keep him in 2 weeks before the surgery and then for several afterwards. If anyone has suggestions for fun activities for toddlers, let me know! I ordered a book yesterday called The Toddler's Busy Book which I hope will be helpful.  

Anyway, sorry for the slightly random post. We just continue to praise God for our sweet Jake and thank Him for his constant care!
