About a year ago I stumbled upon a website for stay at home moms in Houston which had listings of activities in our area for young kids, library schedules for story times, and even lesson plans for toddlers. I decided I would put my teaching degree to use and start the lesson plans on Jake. A year ago he had just turned one and was really too young for what they suggested so I gave up rather quickly. This fall and winter I was pregnant with Grace and sick most of the time so I didn't go back to looking at the website until recently. Its now moved sites and is called www.woodlandsmommy.com Anyway, I had a burst of energy last weekend and looked at what they suggested for this week. The theme was ducks and they provided songs, book suggestions, and crafts about ducks. I'm working on counting with Jake so I had the idea to hide ducks (stuffed animal ducks and bathtub ducks) around the house and let him "hunt" them using his Easter basket. Once he found them all, I had him count them out. I guess Jake still has the Easter spirit because he was all about hunting the ducks. When Ty got home Monday evening, he was quite confused why Jake was playing with a bucket full of ducks so I explained my idea. Ty decided he would really teach Jake to duck hunt so he took the ducks out of the basket and taught Jake how to shoot them with his nerf dart gun. Oh, the differences in mommies and daddies!
Jake and Grace--she's wearing her little duck outfit so I thought I'd include this picture in my post :)

Amy! You amaze me! Motherhood of 2 has not slowed you down one bit! Very cute idea! And shooting ducks is better than shooting Mommy, which is what Lloyd taught my boys to do with the nerf gun this week! :)
Fabulous! I was just thinking about those mommy lesson plans the other day and wondering what that website address was. I'm glad you found it and impressed that you did a lesson!!! Way to go!! BTW, very cute duck outfit!
