Dear Grace,
You are now 18 months old, and I wish I could just stop time for a bit and save these precious days with you. I definitely savor and treasure them. You are now a toddler and not a baby anymore which makes your Mommy sad some days. You are ferociously independent from the time you wake up in the morning until the time you lay your head down at night. You already put your shoes on yourself and try so hard to dress yourself as well. You love to accessorize and love your tutus, boas, and bracelets! You love to wear pretty dresses and your face lights up when I put one over your head. You love to be the princess. In fact, your brother refers to you as "his Princess Grace."
You are my little nurturer already. You love your baby dolls and love to wrap them up in blankets so they will stay warm. You love to offer them your play food and a bottle. You are very concerned about your brother and want him taken care of as well.
Speaking of your brother, "Jake" is the first word out of your mouth each morning. You run to him and hug him before asking for not one, but two bananas for breakfast (you only get one and then give a great fake cry for the next minute or so). Jake is definitely your best friend and although you have your squabbles, you adore one another. Your brother says you are his favorite person to play with and that melts your Mommy's heart.
Gracie, you are so funny. You make us laugh continually with your quirky spirit and easy laugh. You love to be the center of attention. You love going to Jake's speech appointments so that you can be the star of the waiting room and entertain all of the other mommies who are waiting.
You are already a leader. Your teacher at Bible Study Fellowship told me that you are the leader of the toddler class and sing with all of the songs. You love Bible class at church, too, and I pray that you will be a leader for God for the rest of your life.
You are scared of thunder. I secretly look forward to thunderstorms because when you hear that thunder clap, you run as fast as you can to me and dramatically throw your arms around me and bury your head in my shoulder.
Even though you are our princess, you are not afraid to make a mess or get dirty. You are usually the messiest one at the table and LOVE to eat! Your favorite foods are bananas, oranges, yogurt, grapes, goldfish, pasta (especially spaghetti), chicken, and of course all sweets. Mommy is working on the vegetables, but you're still not a big fan! Your first sentence was "I want cupcakes" which you yelled very loudly. Those are your favorite!!!
Gracie, I am so proud to be your Mommy. You are a beautiful little girl on the inside and out and I pray that this sweet spirit of yours will always be your defining quality.
Many blessings and much love,
Mommy
Hugging your "twin cousin" Nash…you give the best hugs!
Ready to watch some football with Daddy. You love your Daddy so much and can't wait for him to get home from work each night.
You might hate this picture someday, but it is so stinking cute! You want to be big and use the potty like Jake. Hopefully, you'll be easier to potty train :)
