Summer--week one: Finishing Kindergarten

Grace enjoyed our first week of summer while Jake finished Kindergarten. He ended up having just a wonderful year and we could not have been more blessed with a great school, patient and sweet teacher, and even a Christian principal. Jake got an award for having exemplary behavior all long. He did well academically with mostly E's on his report card. He is an official reader--so proud of him! Health wise, he did very well, too. He struggled during PE because he wanted to run as many laps as the other kids but just physically can't. The one day he did, they had to call me because he was overheated. Most of the time he did really well, though. His next checkup is in August. We are expecting good news!

Here's a picture of him at an end of school watermelon party:

One of the last days of school, I pulled him out for a little field trip with some friends to the Blue Bell Creamery--yum!! Both kids had an awesome time!

We also managed to see our dear friends the Ciufo's this week. The kids had requested a "play date" with Anna and Leah (never mind that they are 18 and 20!)

It was a great beginning to a great summer!
