What a difference a year makes! One year ago today was Jake's first cardiology appointment with Dr. Grenier. He received his official diagnosis of his ASD and we discussed plans to eventually fix his heart. On that day we were told Jake could wait until he was 3-4 years old for surgery, and he would just need visits to Dr. Grenier for check-ups until then. Who would have known that Jake's condition would require surgery later that year instead and that today his heart would be already repaired? February 14th is National Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day and means so much more to us than just Valentine's Day had before. We celebrate Jake's repaired heart today and pray for others who are going through similar situations. Above is a picture of Jake I took on his birthday...below is a picture of Jake and Ty from a year ago.
I went to my Beth Moore Bible Study today on the Psalms of Ascent. She discussed today that in scripture it tells us that God and his angels sing over us and specifically sing when we have been delivered from difficult situations. We have been "delivered" this year, and I know God is singing. What a powerful image that our God sings over us!
