More of Jake's adventures

Jake doesn't seem to notice that he hasn't left the house in almost two weeks now. He's happily playing along enjoying his life. We are so blessed at what a sweet, pleasant little boy he is! He had a fun visit this weekend from his Pops and Nonnie who came to see him before his surgery. Jake showed Pops all of his trains and Pops helped him build some tracks. Nonnie entertained both he and Grace and helped me out. He showed them what a great swimmer he's become and he played in the pool quite a bit this weekend. We were glad to have them visit and are glad they'll be back with the other grandparents next week to help out during the surgery.

I love to plan everything out and know exactly how it will go. The truth is that I'm not sure how things will go next week balancing Jake in the hospital and Grace. We have a wonderful friend that has volunteered to keep Grace both the night before the surgery and the day of the surgery. That will be a Godsend so that all of the grandparents can be at the hospital with Ty and me. My parents will pick her up the night of the surgery from Tricia's house and keep her Tuesday night and then bring her to the hospital on Wednesday. From there, we'll see how things go. I know everyone has been fervently praying for Jake and we can't say how much we truly appreciate that. I also ask that you'll pray for Grace next week. She's still not napping well and I'm praying that she'll be able to take naps up at the hospital with us. She's also starting to teeth and has been pretty fussy lately. But, I know God will take care of her too next week and help Ty and me balance both kids.

Here's some more pictures from the last few days that show what Jake has been doing:

We did "toddler bowling" with his basketball and empty coke bottles. He really got into this :)

Going for a wagon ride with Grace...they both love being outside in the wagon.

Blowing bubbles outside: I attempted to make homemade bubbles that were supposed to stick to our clothes. It turns out that glycerin is really hard to find when making them and that they turned out super sticky...I just turned the sprinkler on and Jake ran through it to wash off which he loved.

We made wave bottles this morning...Jake had fun, but we did add too much coloring and not enough oil so they didn't make great waves. I'm learning I wouldn't make a great Science teacher :) I don't follow recipes for these experiments too well!

The kids with Pops and Nonnie-- I normally don't think the kids look alike but here they have the exact same expression on their faces...its the same expression Ty has for pictures when he refuses to smile :) They were having fun!

And, another picture of Grace...gotta love those big headbands :)
