Last week my kids got to play with their cousins on both sides of the family! Nash was in town last week with Jonesa while Destin and Mark went on a cruise. Monday, Grace and I met them at the fountains at Market Street for a cousin playdate. It was Grace's first time at the fountains as a walker, and she loved it and got soaked! She and Nash had a nice picnic together and ran around on the grass and in the water.
On Tuesday, the kids and I went to Oklahoma for the rest of the week to see Gigi, Poppy, and Ryan's family. Jake had been talking about going to their house for two weeks and was excited to finally get there. We had a great time and went to the zoo one day and a dinosaur museum on the OU campus another day. We were supposed to go to the OU Spring football game but unfortunately, it was pouring down rain. The Spring game is always so much fun because you can meet the players and go on the field and several former players are always there. I had grand visions of the kids getting their pictures made with some of my favorite players as well as with Boomer and Sooner (the ponies) but that will have to wait another year!
Hendrix and Jake played really well together and had a great time. Grace and Gentry were hysterical to watch all week. They are just three months apart in age and are developing quite the rivalry. They fought over doll strollers, Minnie Mouse, blankets, and their Gigi and Poppy. Oh, they were funny…They would squeal and yell at each other and then kiss, hug, and make up. I wish we had video taped them. I have a feeling they will be the best of friends as they grow up but will also have some great arguments. Little girls are just so different from little boys. Their personalities are big and bold! It will be interesting to see how Grace's relationships with Nash and Gentry differ as they grow up. It's fun for Grace to have both a boy and girl cousin close to her age. Ryan and Crystina are having baby #3, another girl, in August and I can't wait to see what that added dynamic will bring.
While we were there, I also got to spend time with my dear friends Amber and JoDee. It's so refreshing to be with family and good friends and just be home every now and then. I'm still an Oklahoma girl at heart!

Hendrix and Jake holding hands at the zoo…I was so proud of them for listening :)
Can't you tell they're ornery!?!
Poppy and Gentry got to see a bird up close--the OKC zoo has an amazing children's zoo…I highly recommend it!

At the Science museum in Norman…I made Ryan take a picture with me in front of the Bison in honor of our Harding days. I also tried to teach all of the kids the Harding alma mater, but they weren't too interested :)
