Our summer so far:
Last week we got to have Jake's little best friend Jackson spend a few days with us while his big sister Lillie Beth was having surgery on her broken arm. Bless her heart, it's no fun to start the summer off with a big cast, but she's a trooper!
I'm pretty sure Jake and Grace both thought Jackson was there to spend time with each of them. Jackson tells everyone he's Grace's boyfriend and even brought her a necklace which he had Lillie Beth make her. He told Ty that Grace was his girlfriend and Ty told him that she definitely was NOT his girlfriend. They must of argued for 15 minutes, and I finally convinced Ty that it was silly to argue with a 4 year old! He was kidding, but not really :) I asked Jackson why Grace was his girlfriend and he replied, "because she tickles me." Ty then told Grace to quit tickling boys :) I think when the kids get older, Ty will be screening all of Jake's friends that visit!
Both kids loved having their friend spend the night...Jackson is such a funny kid...we love him!
This past week we stayed busy with VBS all week (the kids LOVED it!) so our summer is off to a great start (minus the kidney stones I had this week :( ). Jake is going to pre-school on Mondays and Wednesdays in June and loving it. I'm trying to have special Grace time on those days. She desperately wants to go to school, too and will be excited to start in the fall. I'm going to start teaching at Community Christian pre-school in the fall so both kids will go with me (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays). I've been tutoring high school kids this spring and really enjoying it, but I'm going to try this new job for next year.
