The Joy of Easter

Easter truly is a joyful holiday...Celebrating Jesus and what he has done for us...celebrating family and dear friends...I just love Easter! We had a wonderful weekend--Ty was off for Good Friday so we had a nice family day and took the kids to a new Bounce House place called "Bouncing Bears." It was so much fun to watch Jake get to bounce and run as much as he wanted. Grace has no fear and went down the tallest slides she could find and bounced and bounced and bounced! Friday night Ty and I had our first date night in a LONG time and went to see James Taylor at the Pavilion. We just got some lawn tickets and it was the perfect evening to sit outside and listen to some great music.

Saturday we dyed Easter eggs and went to our church's 2nd annual Eggapolooza festival. This year they had 2,300 people come through! We host it in a neighborhood park near our church building and it's a hit.

Sunday our family got to go to church together for the first time since January....Easter was the perfect Sunday to get to come back! Carl's lesson was amazing (I'll post more about my thoughts on that later) and it was so nice to be back worshipping God again with our church family. The kids had another Easter egg hunt during Bible class and got to see Papa and JoJo. After church, our dear friends, the Babb's invited us over for their family Easter lunch. We had a great meal with them, ate some of my annual bunny cake, and had the final egg hunt with the kids.

We feel blessed!

Fresh flowers from the backyard...I LOVE springtime!

The Easter Bunny made an appearance at the church egg hunt...Grace saw him and put her head in her hands and said, "I can't believe it!" Jake ran right up to him and thanked him for his Easter basket.

The three musketeers...Jackson is Jake's best friend and says he's Grace's boyfriend

Buddies! Jackson kept asking Jake on Sunday if his heart was better. Jake would lift up his shirt and say, "yes, you want to see my scar?" Jackson is his sweet friend that was afraid Jake was having surgery because he had hugged him too tight. They're the only boys their age at church so I'm glad they're back together again.

With the sweet Mathews' triplets...I'm pretty sure sometimes Grace thinks she's their other sister. She loves the girls and follows them around constantly. They're so sweet with her!
