I haven't posted an update on Jake in awhile because there hasn't been much change which is a great thing! The past two weeks he's just continued to get back to his normal self. He's eating great again which brought back his energy as well. He takes his "magic" pudding (medicine) every day like a champ and the side effects seem to have waned. The highlight of his days is going outside to water the flowers and everything he can find to spray (usually including Grace). We've been going on walks everyday and he's enjoying the sunshine again. I haven't been great about doing school everyday but I'm trying to still do different projects and games.
We've cheated a bit and taken him out some. A few Sundays ago the children's ministry at church had the kids all make goodies to sell at a bake sale with the proceeds going to buy goats for Honduras. We had made lemon bars and chocolate lollipops and brought them up and let Jake see some people outside. He's just really, really shy again around groups of people. He's been inside for over 2 months now (minus the hospital) and as a naturally shy child, it's hard for him to be outgoing and jump back into life. He's quiet like his daddy and shy in big groups like his mommy :) I think it will take him awhile to be really friendly again.
We've gone over to JoJo and Papa's house a few times and the kids even stayed two nights with them earlier this week which was great for both of them! We're going to try church this Sunday but not Bible class and then try school next Wednesday and see how it goes.
We go back in two weeks for his check-up with his cardiologist and I have a big list of questions for her. We'll be very interested in what the echo shows 6 weeks post surgery and what life will look like for Jake as far as restrictions go. Sometimes it feels like we continually live our life on hold just waiting for the next doctor's appointment/surgery. I guess I just want to wrap my head around permanent restrictions (sports, etc…) and then just live life!!! We're so thankful for the continued prayers for God continuing to heal Jake!
